This stainless steel western bit has a gently ported mouthpiece and long shanks to which the reins attach.
As the rider takes a feel of the reins, more leverage is exerted on the horses mouth and also on the poll.
As western riders ride with a looser rein, the long shanks enable them to give light rein aids and achieve the same results as if they were riding with more contact
